The CLEVER Cities project website, developed and managed by the ICLEI European Secretariat, joined the .eu Web Award 2020 finalists in the “Better World” category. Winners were announced this Wednesday, 16 December, in a prestigious ceremony streamed live from Pisa (Italy).

Organized by EURid, the registration system for the .eu domain name on behalf of the European Commission, the Awards acknowledge the most beautiful, innovative and impactful websites using the .eu extension. CLEVER Cities was chosen as a finalist by popular vote. The “Better World” category is dedicated to websites that represent green initiatives and environmentally-friendly organisations. Winners will receive a two-month billboard advertising campaign in the Brussels Airport, a personalized trophy, a custom video and a digital Web Awards icon.

The winner of this years award is www.ecostructureproject.eu bringing together five leading universities in Wales and Ireland to research and raise awareness of eco-engineering solutions to the challenge of coastal adaptation to climate change.
