Last July, Cornellà de Llobregat won the European Green Leaf 2019 prize, awarded by the European Commission. This prize is granted as a recognition of a commitment to the environment of European cities that have 20,000 to 100,000 inhabitants. What does it really mean to be awarded such a prize? And the Green Capital prize?

In order to explain the actions on urban sustainability implemented in Green Leaf and Green Capital Award winner cities, Cornellà de Llobregat and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), in partnership with the European Commission, have organized a Conference
to be held on February 7th and 8th 2019 in Cornellà.

Programme
• Lectures by urban sustainability experts
• Cornellà Natura project presentation, in connection with Green Leaf Award
• Round tables with experts and representatives from European cities. The round tables will focus on 4 main subjects:
- Urban development strategies
- Sustainable mobility
- Green and blue infrastructure
- Climate change and resilience
• Guided tours around the city and its surroundings
• "Metròpolis de ciutats" exhibition opening

Representatives of various awarded cities will attend the event, as well as speakers and moderators from prestigious universities and benchmark research centres.
